15–20 degrees – this is warm by British standards. T-shirt weather. Shorts depends on preference. In this weather I’d still be in jeans.

Can I tan on an overcast day?

Yes, you can! Clouds don’t completely block off the sun’s UV rays. You are at greater risk to get sunburned on a cloudy day than on a sunny day because you are not as aware of being exposed to the sun. You are likely not even wearing sunscreen, leaving you vulnerable to UVA and UVB rays.

Can you tan when it’s cloudy but high UV?

You absolutely can tan when it’s cloudy out! The UV rays are still able to penetrate through the clouds so you can still get a tan. However, you have to remember that tanning causes damage to the skin, and overexposure to UV rays has its risks.

Can you still tan in overcast weather?

Yes, tanning through clouds is possible. According to research, at least 90% of the UV rays penetrate the clouds and may put your skin at risk of UV radiation-related problems. In other words, almost all of the UV rays responsible for skin tanning and burning can still reach you, even on cloudy, foggy, or misty days.
