Depending on the desired degree of lightening and consistency, mix with Salon Care™ Developers 10 vol., 20 vol., 30 vol., or 40 vol; In a ratio of 1 scoop of powder to 2 scoops of developer in a non-metallic bowl. When applying directly to the scalp, do not exceed 20 vol. Developer. Apply to dry, unwashed hair.
What kind of developer do I need?
It depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you’re going darker, you should use 10 developer. 20 – 40 developer can be used to lift 1-4 levels. 20 developer is best for grey coverage.
Can you use conditioner in place of developer?
The short answer is NO. You can’t use conditioner instead of developer. If you want to avoid developer you can use semi-permanent dyes, which don’t contain ammonia and don’t need bleach to apply it. If you want to change your hair color, you can’t replace developer with a conditioner.
Can I use ion Demi permanent without developer?
Pretty much any unnatural coloour, including ion brilliance colours do NOT need developer. Seriously, don’t use it. It won’t work. Just use it straight from the tube.
Can I mix toner with conditioner instead of developer?
It will not give you the results you need. Toners and haircolor need the developer to bond chemically to the hair. The conditioner will thin out the toner and not allow the chemical reaction that you need. Try using a purple shampoo if you are going blonde to counter act yellow.
Can I put toner in dry hair?
Not at all; you can apply toner to dry hair. You will get much better results if you apply it to damp (not wet) hair. This is because the dampness in your hair will help make it less porous and allow the toner to go on more evenly.
Can I mix shampoo with bleach?
A bleach wash uses a bleach mixture which is then blended with shampoo and applied to wet hair. It is easier to apply and manage than regular bleach treatments, as the shampoo bleach mixture blends through wet hair quickly and easily.
