  1. 2/3 Cup White Elmer’s Glue.
  2. 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda.
  3. 1/4 Cup Water.
  4. 2-3 Cups Shaving Cream.
  5. 1.5 tablespoons Contact Lens Solution **Important: your brand of contact lens solution must have boric acid and sodium borate in the ingredient list. This is what interacts with the glue to form the slime.
  6. Liquid Food Coloring.

Why did my slime fail?

One of the most common reasons for slime gone wrong is because of the type of glue. Don’t use dollar store glue! You won’t save money because your slime won’t work at all, and you’ll have to get the good glue. Elmer’s Glitter Glue (our absolute favorite because you don’t need to use food coloring)

What to Do If slime is not coming together?

First, pour off any standing liquid starch. Then add clear glue approximately 1/4 cup at a time and stir. Once the slime starts holding together, you will need to knead it by hand. After adding glue and kneading for 2-3 minutes, it will be just like new!

Why is my fluffy slime not working?

Add an extra ¼ tsp (1 g) of baking soda to the slime if you have made it with clear glue. If you have used white glue, add an extra ½ tsp (2 g) of baking soda. Use a spoon to mix the extra baking soda into the slime and then knead it for 2-3 minutes. Add more baking soda if the slime is still too watery.

Why is my slime so watery?

Basically, your slime is runny because there is not enough borax, or some other type of polymer, to activate the thickening process. Only add a little bit at a time and work the activator through the slime. If you add too much at once, you may over activate the compound and it will become hard.

Use ice cubes to freeze the remaining slime on the fabric, and then scrape the frozen slime away. This will not remove all of the remaining slime, but it’s important to reduce the amount as much as possible. Pre-treat with liquid detergent.
