What happens when billing address is wrong?

If you put the wrong billing address on an online order, the worst thing that can happen is that your order may be canceled. More often, the retailer will notify you of the error, and you’ll have the chance to update your information. Your order should process normally once your information is updated.

Can my billing address be different?

Yes. For credit card verification you must enter your billing address exactly as it appears on your credit card statement.

Can I apply for a credit card with a different address?

Applications ask how long you have been at the address you provide. You are more likely to be denied with the new address. Since the Post Office will forward mail addressed to the old address if you use it your bill will be forwarded.

Can I have my credit card delivered to a different address?

Some issuers will only ship to billing address but others are more flexible. You’ll have to contact the issuer. You can always forward your mail to your friend’s address. When I had a debit card sent to a foreign address I was asked to fax in a letter stating I am who I say I am and what address I wanted it sent to.

  1. Write the new address on the back of your payment coupon.
  2. Call customer service.

To change your address:

  1. From the Online Banking Home page or from the top right-hand corner of any page in Online Banking, select “Update Profile”
  2. Select “View/Change Address and Personal Information”
  3. Select the information to change and then choose “Continue”
