No. A firearm isn’t a crossbow. Feats, like all character features, only do what they say they do. Still, by rules-as-written, Crossbow Expert doesn’t affect firearm loading.

First, the player should not be able to attack with a heavy crossbow as a bonus action. The bonus action attack in the Crossbow Expert feat only applies to hand crossbows.
