Running just water in your car’s radiator will guarantee overheating and damage, including to your cylinder heads and engine block. And most tap water contains minerals that will leave deposits inside the radiator, causing corrosion, shortening its life and further diminishing its ability to cool.

Why is there white foam in my radiator?

White foam can mean that ur gasket is going and when the engine hits the combustion cycle it is also heating up and foaming the coolant. The foam could be oil in the coolant. Pop off your oil cap and have a look in there. If there is foam in there, then you have a problem.
