Can Helium be made artificially?

Helium is all over the universe—it’s the second-most abundant element. But on Earth, it’s much less common. It can’t be artificially produced and must be extracted from natural gas wells. Over time, helium forms from the decaying uranium and is trapped beneath Earth’s surface, but it takes its sweet time.

The vinegar and the baking soda mix together to make an acid-base reaction. The reaction creates carbon dioxide gas that bubbles up from the mixture. The gas expands up and out of the bottle and inflates the balloon. (So no, these balloons definitely don’t float!)

Latex confetti balloons without Hi Float have a float time of around 4 to 8 hours so it is best to inflate these as close as possible to the event. If we use Hi Float the float time extends to between 12 to 24 hours.

How do you make bubble balloons last longer?

Tying extremely tight will ensure a long-lasting Deco Bubble. When using helium, inflate the Deco Bubble as well as ALL balloons inside the Deco Bubble with helium. When using air, inflate ALL balloons with air. Do not use HI-FLOAT® products or Balloon Shine™ on Bubbles or latex balloons inside Bubbles.
