Chuunibyou (中二病) means “eighth grader disorder”. It’s a real thing. While teenage self-important fantasies, knowing-it-all, and feeling super-special snowflakey also exist in the West, we don’t have an idiom for it in English. In Japan it also refers to people who are long past eighth grade but haven’t grown out of it.
Is Chuunibyou worth watching?
Haven’t finished, but a solid yes. Heck yes! Season 1 was a really good Slice of life anime, it talks about some deep stuff too. I watched it this year, and found it to be worthwhile for sure.
Is love Chunibyo a good anime?
It’s got fantastic art and animation (thanks Kyoani!) and good dialogue too. Don’t expect romance though, the show baits you with it all the time but it never really advances. My opinion is that the original idea is pretty good, but I felt there isn’t enough story progression for most time.

It’s happy and satisfying. You should watch it and find out. 🙂 But yes it’s very happy and cute and sweet and all that good wholesomeness. It all ends with the movie, and all I will say is there is a happy ending.

With the help of Yuuta, she eventually comes to terms with his death and tearfully says her goodbyes. She reverts back to her chuunibyou state, though this time at peace as she begins developing feelings for Yuuta.

Yes, the opening of Rikka Version stars with the chunibyo Rikka Takanashi marrying her love, the formerly delusional Yuta Togashi. However, the wedding is interrupted by their fellow chunibyo friend Sanae Dekomori, who tries to split them up.

Rikka became a chuunibyou in the first place to run from reality. Although in her case she’ll probably find a balance of normal and chuunibyou (whereas Yuuta is almost completely normal).
