The Power Commander has to be set on a Dyno to program the low end mid range and topend correctly. If you do all of this you will see a HP gain of 18-20 HP.

Can you hide a remap?
The ECU will log the map, even if it’s been returned to factory standard later… you won’t be able to hide it.
Can VW detect remap?
Yes it is. We keep copies of the original software for all vehicles we remap. It should be noted that the ecu will show programming attempts so if you remap and remove it before any work it would say 2 attempts.
Can BMW detect a remap?
If remap = software remap, then yes. Changes always leave a digital footprint in some way. Less certain re piggybacks, but AFAIK the ECU and gearbox will monitor outputs and could be interrogated.
