What would you say to a child to make them feel special?

Every child has unique character strengths and abilities that allow them to express their individuality in a social environment. It is what makes them "special." As parents, we begin to notice differences in our children when they are quite young.

What happens when a child doesn’t feel loved?

If they are in a situation where they do not receive normal love and care, they cannot develop this close bond. This may result in a condition called attachment disorder. It usually happens to babies and children who have been neglected or abused, or who are in care or separated from their parents for some reason.

Can you stop loving your child?

Yes, a child can stop loving a parent just as a parent can stop loving a child. It's the same bond that breaks. Severing the relationship is a conscious decision and must be terribly painful.

How do you reconnect with kids?

While sometimes this is a sign of a deep set insecurity or a lack of self-acceptance, sometimes it is simply a ritual or a habitual way of seeking attention from their parents – they know that when they ask question about whether they are loved they will always get a positive and reassuring response from their parents.
