Few members of the egg-consuming public understand that, once used, an egg carton should not be reused and should be discarded. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, egg cartons are considered one-time-use packaging, similar to foam meat trays and plastic wrap.
What can you make with an empty egg box?
Glue the egg carton together to look like a truck. Glue on the bumper, bottle cap headlights and sirens. Place the toilet roll hoses and ladders in the back of the truck without gluing them in so that they can be used in play. Your fire truck is done!
How do you make paper out of egg cartons?
Take two 30 eggs cartons and tear them apart in a plastic container. Pour hot water over the broken pieces and using a spoon make sure they are completely under water. Wait for the water to cool down and start tearing the cartons in even smaller pieces. Wait for another half hour or so and break it even more.
Can you paint Styrofoam egg cartons?
NOTE: you can't paint styrofoam with tempra paint or washable markers. It doesn't cover well and it will flake off when it's dry. It dries overnight and in the morning the girls can paint over it with tempra paint or color over it with Crayola markers!
