Where can I find Degaine in Skyrim?
Degaine is a Breton beggar and an injured worker of the Cidhna Mine’s smelter living in Markarth. He can often be found in The Warrens or inside the Silver-Blood Inn. Sometimes, he may be found by the market stalls at the city’s entrance, or simply wandering around the city.
How do I speak to Degaine?

- Travel to the city of Markarth.
- Speak with Degaine.
- Enter the Inner Sanctum of the Temple of Dibella.
- Steal the statue and return to Degaine for your reward.
Should you steal the Statue of Dibella?
It is possible to complete The Heart of Dibella and subsequently steal the statue, completing both quests, but stealing the statue first will make the second quest unavailable and only yield the reward of some gold from Degaine.
Can you join the Temple of Dibella in Skyrim?
Upon entering the temple, you will find the priestess Senna, who will inform you that: “The sisters are communing with Dibella. They can’t be disturbed. You’ll have to come back another time.” In order to access the Inner Sanctum, you can either try to pick the expert-lock, or steal the key from Senna.

Aela can only be killed by you. Like all companions, other NPCs will only knock her out. If you deal the killing blow, however, she will die.
Why is serana in Darkfall cave?
If one is booted out of Fort Dawnguard (by either becoming a vampire or vampire lord) and they have Serana following them, should the Dragonborn have Serana stop acting as a follower, instead of going to the Fort where she is inaccessible, she chooses to go to Darkfall Cave where one can easily recruit her again.
Can you get serana back after dismissing her?
She may also go to your next Dawnguard-storyline quest location if you are doing the dlc’s main questline when you dismiss her. Heading to the next quest where she’s involved will make her reappear if you can’t find her.
