When should you put up the Christmas tree?
Tradition dictates that Christmas trees should be put up at the beginning of Advent, which begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas. This year, Advent begins on Sunday 1st December 2019.
Is it bad luck to put your Christmas tree up early?
According to tradition your tree and decorations should be taken down the day after Twelfth Night (5 January) – it's considered bad luck to leave them up for longer than that. However it's definitely considered bad luck if your festive greenery isn't removed by Candlemas Eve.
Can you put up Christmas tree before Thanksgiving?
We put our tree up around the beginning of December–never before Thanksgiving. I don't personally care if other people put them up prior to Thanksgiving, except in cases where a cut tree would present a fire hazard as it dries out. Christmas seems to be getting longer and longer every year.
