The HeliCoil insert is made of 304 stainless steel wire, that is roller formed into a taper and mandrel wound. In the instance that you are using the wire insert to repair the threads of metal that is equal in strength to the wire, the wire actually has less strength in holding power than the original hole.
Can you use two helicoils one hole?
If you use two helicoils to get a longer grip they can’t get ‘out of sync’ because they are both held in same thread. That’s not a worry. There is no way to stack Heli coils inside each other.
