What causes brake calipers to not release?
Just like with the master cylinder not releasing causing the brake drag, a caliper not releasing and staying applied can do the same thing. This is usually caused by a bent caliper mounting bracket or severely warped rotors and pads.

Can you remove Presta valve core?

How do you burp a Presta valve?
Presta valves often stick after they have been closed for a while. The standard procedure is to “burp” the tube before you attach the pump by opening the nut and tapping the stem to unstick the valve by allowing a small amount of air to escape. Then attach the pump and it should work fine right away.
Why are Presta valves so difficult?
