Can I put Sudocrem on my dog?
Sudocrem. This can be used in dogs and cats in small amounts. Sudocrem contains zinc-oxide which is highly toxic to birds. Zinc-oxide is also toxic to dogs and cats if ingested in large quantities, but applying a thin layer of sudocrem to sore or irritated skin is generally safe and can be beneficial.
Can I put Bepanthen on my dog?
Sudocrem, Bepanthen and Vaseline are all Oil based products and in our opinion should not be used on open wounds. This can be challenging and if your pet is scratching and has an itching area it’s likely that a dermatological issue is present and that the wound is secondary.
Can I put Germolene on my dog?
Germolene is okay for dogs and is well used by several dog owners. However, I recommend longterm use using an antiseptic cream made for dogs; it saves you unnecessary worrying. However, in the meantime, use Germolene or Sudocrem if your dog has a sore now.
Can I use TCP on my dog?
Clean the wound with fresh water or a diluted disinfectant such as T.C.P. In addition, apply an antiseptic ointment. Cuts to the pads often bleed profusely, if this is the case apply a pressure bandage to the whole foot, cling film is good for this, ensuring that the blood supply is not cut off.
Can you use human skin cream on dogs?
Unfortunately, you can’t just use your own lotion on the dog because human moisturisers may contain harmful chemicals and ingredients. Dogs are likely to lick topical treatments off of their noses and paws, so any skin-soothing product you use has to be 100% dog-safe.
