In Speed each player holds up to five cards in their hand, and has one stock pile, face down. Two cards can be put down at once. You can not put down more than 2 at once. In Spit each player has a row of stock piles, usually five, with the top card face up, so all cards in play are visible to both players.
Can you put the same card down in spit?
A card is officially played on a spit pile as soon as any part of that card touches the spit pile. If both players are trying to play onto the same spit pile at nearly the same time, the player whose card touches the spit pile first gets to place his or her card.
How do you win spit?
His or her opponent takes the spit pile and the unplayed stockpile cards. If the player with no spit cards in his or her hand also is the one who gets rid of his or her stockpiles first, that person wins the game. If the opponent gets rid of his or her stockpiles first, the game continues.

A player wins by running out of cards in their hand and draw pile before the other player. The player with no cards in their hand must say Speed and hit and on the table in order for the other player to officially lose. Speed is typically played in a two-wins-out-of-three win.

You simply have to decide whether the second card is searched for higher or lower than the first card. As you progress, you will be shown a new card. Choose higher or lower to decide whether it is searched for more or less than the previous card. The objective is to get the most right in a row.
