Yes, Hounslow is not particularly glamourous but that does not mean it is an unsafe place to live. For a holiday, Hounslow may not be the best choice in terms of distance to Central London. But it is well connnected by tube. If you are looking for a budget holiday and do not mind the commute, then Etap is fine.
