In the movie, it is known that he had a weapon but in the book Thresh was armed with a rock which suggests a lack of a weapon. The contains of Thresh’s bag was unknown, though it is guessed that it contained food and water or in the case of the books, a weapon.
Why didnt thresh protect rue?
Until the “rule-change” (that the Capitol never intended to keep), only one of the tributes could get out alive of that arena. Meaning, if Tresh had done his best to keep Rue alive, and they had been the last two tributes in that arena, he would have either had to kill her, or to sacrifice himself. So he did not try.
Did Cato and Clove have a thing?
In the film, Cato and Clove seem to have no relationship with each other beyond that of allies. Cato is not shown coming to Clove’s aid during the feast, though she screams his name twice.
Would Katniss have killed rue?
Katniss would do anything to save her sister. That being said, Katniss would sacrifice herself because if she killed Rue, she would go home knowing she killed someone as young, as innocent, as caring, as pure as Prim. Katniss wouldn’t be able to live with herself if she killed Rue. Katniss eats Nightlock and dies.
