Most people do a nappy wash every 2-3 days, but it depends how many nappies you have and it is just about getting into whatever routine works for you.
Can you soak cloth nappies?
Your covers should not need to be soaked though, as they do not absorb urine in the way that your nappies do. For the same reason, if you have other modern cloth nappies that have a PUL shell or outer, I would suggest that you avoid soaking them too.

If short on time, you could also soak inserts overnight and then wash both inserts & covers on a warm cycle no hotter than 60 degrees. Simply use a standard dose of laundry detergent with your wash cycle. And make sure your nappies are fully dried between each wash.
