How do I share my Goodreads list?

Unfortunately Goodreads doesn't offer the ability to make bookshelves private. One of the reasons we started Goodreads was to see our friends' reviews and share our own. In the meantime, a suggested workaround is creating a secret group, and using its bookshelves to document books you'd like to keep private.

Goodreads is a social-media page for tracking your reading and communicating with other readers, not a source for books. To read a book, you can buy a physical copy, borrow from your library, buy or borrow an ebook, or buy or borrow an audiobook. After you read it, get on Goodreads to update and discuss it.

How do you make Goodreads private?

You can find your privacy settings on Goodreads by clicking on your profile picture when on Goodreads and selecting Account settings from the drop-down menu. On the Settings tab beneath Who Can View My Profile, you can select between anyone (including search engines), Goodreads members, and just my friends.

How do you get a DNF shelf on Goodreads?

Click on My Books in the header. Next to the Bookshelves header, click Edit. In the Add a Shelf text box, type "never finished", "did not finish", "dnf", "abandoned" or similar and click Add. Check "exclusive" next to the new shelf when it appears on the list.
