The entrance is to the right and downhill of the statue. Uphill north-northeast of the statue is a word wall which teaches a word of the Elemental Fury dragon shout. Once you enter Kilkreath Ruins, you need to activate all the pedestals which will allow Meridia’s light to cleanse the temple of undead. The only foes you will encounter are corrupted shades. In the Kilkreath Catacombs you will find Malkoran. Once you have slain Malcoran you will find Dawnbreaker on a pedestal.
Can Dawnbreaker be upgraded to Legendary?
You need 168 to be able to upgrade the Dawnbreaker to legendary. With those enchantments you have 134. If you raise your skill to 82 and use a Blacksmith’s Philter or better along with those enchantments you should reach 168 smithing. Dawnbreaker doesn’t have a smithing skill associated to it.
Does Dawnbreaker run out of charge?
The normal enchant, dealing extra fire damage, can and probably has run out long ago. The explosion effect uses no charges and will continue to be used forever.
