Can revolvers shoot underwater?
Can revolvers shoot underwater?
Can a pistol revolver or semi-auto actually shoot underwater without damaging the gun? Yes. I've heard it said that “any gun will fire underwater, at least once.” Many guns will fire without issue regardless of water resistance but it will be highly dependent on the make and model.
Are revolvers harder to shoot?
The revolver was cutting edge in its time; that time is long past. For most people, revolvers are more difficult to shoot well than semi-autos. (Most people can learn to shoot well faster and easier using a semi-auto pistol.) Revolvers are harder physically on many, perhaps most, people to shoot than semi-autos.
Is there a safety on a revolver?
Most modern double-action revolvers have an internal safety, either a hammer block or a transfer bar, that positively prevents firing without the trigger being pulled. The only double-action revolvers with external safeties are unusual cases available only on special order or modified through aftermarket conversions.
Is a revolver better for self defense?
Yes, most revolvers can also be cocked and shot single-action, but emphatically, that is not a self-defense method. When using a revolver for self-defense, 100% of the time, the weapon is operated double-action.
