Yeah, it really did make me cry. So I have been hesitating to watch Anohana for quite a while before actually watching it. The first episodes were a bit confusing to me but after that, I pretty much knew what was going on.

Anohana is a great example of a show that’s trying too hard. The sadness comes off as fake and unearned, and the end is such obvious crybait. It reeks of working backwards, ie – they started with the idea that they wanted the end to make people cry, and then they figured out the other crap later.
