Begin the fight by focusing Fire attacks (like Firaga) on one of Abzu’s horns. Hitting it hard will instantly inflict Pressured status, causing Abzu to dance around for several seconds, leaving it open to additional attacks, before it jumps into the sewer channel to douse the flames.
What is ABZU weak against?
Fire magic is the weakness of Abzu. You can stun Abzu for a while and give burn damage by setting it on fire.
Can you die in ABZU?
Abzu is ultimately a relaxed adventure. There are no time limits and no deaths. You can, however, stray too far from the beaten path and continue on with a story element that might gate you out of the previous zone.

The Mischievous Shoat is weak to Fire, like his siblings are, so cast Firaga as soon as you have an ATB charge, then follow up with Focused Thrust to Stagger it and finish it off with powerful attacks.
